Almuth Siegel and her Schleske Op.71
Twenty-two-year-old violinist Almuth Siegel comes from a family of musicians in Munich. She had her first violin lessons at the age of eight. This was followed by master classes with names including D. Zsigmondy, H. Schneeberger, K. Saßmannshaus, Zakhar Bron, Igor Ozim and A. Chumachenco. From 2002 to 2006 while still attending school, she studied with Prof. Ingolf Turban. Since 2007 she studdies at the Munich Conservatory with Prof. Ana Chumachenco. She was a member of the Bavarian Youth Orchestra for two years. She was awarded a national 1st prize in the "Jugend musiziert" youth musical competition in 2003 and also received a prize in the Jeunesses Musicales 2006 national composition competition. Since April 2007, she has held a scholarship from the German studies foundation. Since 2008 she holds a scholarship from the „Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now“.
As a soloist Almuth Siegel has performed with serveral German Philharmonic Orchestras like „Symphonieorchester des Deutschen Volks“, „Nuernberger Philharmoniker“ and „Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin“.
